Let's BAKE! I help people feel more comfortable and confident in the kitchen!

Hello! I’m Sarah Beth! I’m a recipe developer, food stylist, and all-around Culinary Creative in Chicago.

I offer several classes designed to provide the ideal environment for folks to have a blast cooking together. There is a special magic that happens at the end of class when everyone hits the unmute button and shares in the joy and pride of a made-from-scratch treat!

During these cook-along classes, I use a two-camera setup to demystify the process, answer questions, and share a lifetime of tips and tricks. Everyone works step-by-step as team, and by the end every student has something delicious to show off and enjoy together.

– Buttermilk Biscuit Class:
A down-home crowd pleaser any time of year!
Learn my simple, classic recipe for crisp-flaky, tender-fluffy Buttermilk Biscuits. I’ve been perfecting this recipe for decades, and I’ll share every tip and trick I’ve learned along the way. We’ll also make my two slathers: Sweet Citrus Butter and Hot Turmeric Honey. Ask about my Bring-The-Kids sessions! (1.5-2 hours)

– Happy Hour Cocktails-Mocktails and Hearty Appetizers:
Perfect for a celebratory occasion! We’ll kick off class with a fun, customizable beverage and work into easy-yet-fancy appetizers of your choice to enjoy while while celebrating together.

– Seasonal Galette (Rustic Tart) Class:
A festive and luxurious treat.
We’ll make a fool-proof, all-butter pie dough and fold it around seasonal fruit to make two open-faced pie pastries know as ‘galettes’. This recipe is customizable and can go anywhere from apple-pie-sweet to tomato-herb-savory. It makes a beautiful appetizer, dessert, or even brunch. While our galettes bake, I’ll show you my favorite Salted Caramel Drizzle. This class is aimed at intermediate bakers, but beginners are welcome! (2 hours)

– Caramelized Onion and Steak Crostini Class:
A short-n-savory option!
We’ll practice basic knife skills, slowly melt onions into jam, and nail the sear AND temperature on a sirloin steak. Pile it all onto a perfectly toasted crostini, top it with blue cheese and fresh herbs, and you’ve got yourself one classy appetizer. (1.5-2 hours)

My Background

I'm a lifelong food lover, and I've baked in kitchens and bakeries across the country.

In the last year, I've found that people love to learn to cook in their own kitchens. One student described the feeling like driving his own car. Folks appreciate the opportunity to interact with their friends and coworkers in an unconventional way from the comfort of their own environment.

My mission is to inspire folks to cook and eat real food every day. I want to help us all learn more about what and how we eat, where our food comes from, and how our food choices affect the world around us.

Find me on Instagram (@sbtcooks) or visit my website (sbtcooks.com) to learn more. Thanks for joining me on this culinary adventure!
